Bringing Your Owned Vehicle Home?
You Might Qualify for Duty‑Free Entry.

For retired Service Members & U.S. Government Contractors

If you’re ending a contract overseas or returning from service not on PCS orders, you may still have a path to bring your owned vehicle back to the U.S. without paying import duty—even with today’s headlines about elevated tariffs. We’ve helped many customers navigate this successfully on a case‑by‑case basis with written guidance from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) at the planned port of entry.

IMPACT OF ILA UNION STRIKE:
Please be advised that the October 1st longshoremen labor strike may cause significant disruptions at all U.S. East Coast and Gulf Ports, which could result in additional terminal and ocean carrier fees as well as delays.

TransGlobal Logistics Europe is deeply saddened by the tragic incident that occurred at the Francis Scott Key bridge in the early hours of 26 March 2024.
Our most heartfelt thoughts go out to those impacted and their families.

At this time we do not know how long vessel traffic will be suspended. We will provide you with regular updates as news are beeing received.

The Francis-Scott-Key Bridge in Baltimore collapsed after a collision with a Containervessel. The incident led to the tragic loss of lives and multiple vehicles falling into the water. As of the latest updates, the search for survivors has been stopped. The authorities have classified this as a "mass casualty incident".
The cause of the collision remains under investigation, with reports indicating that the ship, "Dali," had issues with its propulsion system before the accident.

The collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore has significantly disrupted East Coast shipping traffic, especially affecting the Port of Baltimore, a crucial shipping hub. The closure has halted ship traffic, trapping at least 40 ships and forcing another 30 scheduled to arrive to be rerouted. This has led to delays and increased pressure on alternative ports, potentially impacting U.S. market access and causing ripple (cascading) effects.

There is heightened urgency to re-open the waterway because several US Navy vessels are blocked inside the port, but we expect it to take weeks if not months until things are back to normal.

All TGLE customer cargo will be discharged at different Terminals or rerouted to alternative ports in the meantime.
TGLE is currently working on a contingency plan and will address each cargo interest directly in the coming days while closely monitoring the situation in Baltimore.

We will continue to accept future bookings for CONTAINERS and RORO (to all other U.S. ports)

Thank you for your understanding and patience. We will keep you updated.

Important Notice

Due to the current logistical challenges around the world with the new situation, Shipping / Logistics is partly impacted with delays and lack of vessel space availability.

Please be aware Europe- and US-Ports are experiencing partly congestion, so please be aware that there could be delays in vessel arrivals or departures.
All liners and truckers try to avoid delays, but due to the special circumstances delays can happen, which are outside any control, i.e. Trucking delays, Customs-releases, Vessel-space-availability.
In addition to a normal peak season, some official offices (Customs etc.) can be short staffed, and worldwide truck-shortages (ongoing) which are all contributing to the possible delays. Rest assured the complete Trans Global Logistics Team, including our Agents, will do all we can, to process your shipment as quickly as possible, but delays outside our control cannot be avoided.

We will try our best to keep all clients up to date and we will endeavor to pass the correct information on, however, we also must rely on information from other parties. We cannot be held responsible for delays due to Shipping Lines change of Schedule or delays due to overbooked vessels. Thanks in advance for your understanding in these matters.
